BELT MONSTERS by Mirza
This is a well-done classic rotation (spin, turn) tessellation. You can tell it's a mirror tessellation because the monsters are all at the same angle in one row, but turned 180 degrees on their heads in the next row, and so on.
Here's an artistic point to consider: Monsters are a good choice if you're looking for a theme for your own tessellation. Why? Because they're flexible. Who can say if a monster is supposed to have two arms, or three, or six? Who can say if their body is watermelon-shaped, or boxy? Who can say if the arms on a monster all have to be the same size? Read more about choosing monsters as your tessellation theme here, in tessellations.org's do-it-yourself section.
